The Thomas Howard Foundation awards students annually with the Academic & Athletics Achievement Award

(aka, Walk-On Athlete Award)

This Award is Open to University of Texas, El Paso Student-Athletes 

*Annual Submissions Open Each February - April 8*

Qualifications for “Walk-On Award”

1. Applicants must be either of the following:

   • Graduating high school senior with a cumulative 3.0 – 4.0 GPA.

   • Enrolled in a 4-Year (UTEP) collegiate institution immediately after his or her high school graduation.

   • Received at least a 3.0 GPA all 4 years while competing in your high school athletics program (Football, Basketball, Track, Volleyball, Baseball, Softball, etc).

   • In college trying out and “Walking- on” in your particular sport in order to attempt to obtain a four-year scholarship.

2. Applicants must currently be in good standing with (UTEP) University.

3. Applicants must have a 2.5 or higher GPA at time (UTEP), of recommendation to THF Award Committee.

4. Recommendations of qualified student-athlete applicants will be submitted to the THF Award Committee, along with their essays.
